Special hazards and new clean agent suppression systems (Halon replacement), are generally provided when the possible release of a water based fire suppression system into a space would cause unacceptable consequences (MRI or server rooms) . Novec, FM200, Intergen clean agent systems for hospitals, high-tech facilities, and light rail facilities design integrated into the fire notification system are preferred. Note: Providing an alternate suppression system does not automatically permit the removal of water based sprinklers. (An AM&M submittal to AHJ may be required)
